Classroom Features
Every classroom is equipped with iPads, allowing teachers to capture and document each child's learning experiences and accomplishments as they happen. Through Brightwheel, YW's Early Education Center (EEC) keeps families connected by providing regular communication and sharing their child's growth, achievements, and milestones electronically.
Infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children each have access to dedicated outdoor play areas designed specifically for their age and developmental stage. These safe, engaging spaces are equipped with developmentally appropriate materials, toys, and playground equipment that encourage active play, exploration, and social interaction. The outdoor environments support physical activity and gross motor skill development while providing opportunities for children to learn and grow through age-appropriate outdoor experiences.
YW's Early Education Center enriches children's learning experiences through a variety of unique partnerships and supplemental programs. Through our partnership with Hearts of Humanity, children participate in hands-on gardening activities that foster curiosity, responsibility, and an appreciation for nature. Pottstown Community Arts provides engaging, age-appropriate art experiences that encourage creativity, self-expression, and exploration through a variety of artistic mediums.
In addition, YW's Youth Education & Prevention (YEP) Department delivers supplemental STEM/STEAM programming, introducing children to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through interactive, developmentally appropriate activities. Children also benefit from YW CHAMPS (Child Health and Movement Program Series), a specialized program designed to promote healthy habits, physical activity, and overall wellness through fun, engaging movement-based experiences.
Our meal program includes a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack each day. Carefully planned meals help support children's health, growth, and development while introducing them to a variety of wholesome foods.
Families enrolled in our Early Education Center enjoy exclusive access to all YW programs and services, connecting children and caregivers with additional opportunities for learning, wellness, support, and community engagement. Children also participate in field trips and special events that enrich their educational experience.
Our Early Education Center (EEC) is built upon our mission to “eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all." Every resource used in the EEC is vetted to ensure compliance with and agreement to our mission.
