STABILIZING HOUSING AND ECONOMIC SECURITY

Welcome to the Eviction Prevention and Intervention Coalition (EPIC) program, offered by the YWCA Tri-County Area (YW3CA). Our mission is to provide critical support to eligible renters facing economic insecurities in Montgomery County, ensuring housing stability through personalized case management, resource connections, and rental assistance when available.

We offer comprehensive services designed to address the root causes of housing instability.

Primary Eligibility

Clients receiving EPIC services (legal advice, representation, social services support, and financial assistance) must:
  • Be scheduled to appear in one of the eight participating district courts. (see below)

AND

  • -Not received financial assistance from the EPIC program in the past 12 months or any other Your Way Home federally funded program.

Keeping families in their homes

Case Management

EPIC Specialists provide ongoing case management for a maximum of 12 months, ensuring sustained support and assistance to individuals and families as they navigate housing challenges and work towards long-term stability.

Partnerships

EPIC collaborates closely with landlords and service providers to bolster access to resources. Additionally, program staff actively participate in court proceedings, offering essential case management support and advocating for tenant needs.

Prevention Services

EPIC offers rental assistance as a crucial component of is prevention services, aiming to prevent homelessness by providing financial support for past due rental arrearages to eligible households facing eviction.

Referral Program

 EPIC ensures access to vital resources such as employment assistance and mental health services through strategic referrals, fostering stability for individuals and families facing housing insecurity.
